Lamar Manson, known throughout the spoken word community as Black Ice, combines hip hop with rich vocabulary to create his signature style. The first spoken word artist signed to Def Jam Records, five-time HBO Def Poet Black Ice is a prolific artist, whose stage performances bridge the gap between hip-hop and poetry. He's featured on Showtime at the Apollo, BET Tonight..., The Today Show, BET's Rap City, Lyric Cafe, and JET Magazine.

Slim Man will be performing on the bocce ball court at 6 pm - now with MUCH more seating down on the bocce ball court! This vibrant program is designed to be a forum for attendees to share poetry, spoken word and other forms of self-expression. DC needs new a venue where poets of our region can be showcased in a manner that provides them with opportunities to gain greater exposure.

On August 14th, 2010 Seven of Baltimore's most elite bands joined forces for Mobtown Music Fest. The show went on to have over 1000 strong in attendance supporting original music from Maryland. After an unparalleled response, we are proud to announce that Mobtown Music Festival 2 is April 30th, 2011 in the Bourbon Street Ballroom! Come together for Baltimore Music! This is our town.

Join the Beth Am Family with Rabbi Daniel Cotzin Burg and Cantor Ira Greenstein in celebrating Purim on Saturday, March 19. Festivities begin in Beth Am at 7:30 pm with a BYO dairy or fish dinner. Megillah reading to commence at 8:30 pm. Original accompanying songs performed live and in person by Vashti, Haman, Queen Esther, King Ahasueros, Mordecai and the new Beth Am Children’s Chorus.
