Once the summer rolls around in New York City, there's one party weekend that everyone anxiously awaits - 4th of July! There's no better day in the year to throw on that red, white and blue and party with your friends, all the while showing your love for the nation. More often than not we tend to stick to the same routine, leaving us in crowded parks, bars, and lame cookouts. This year make sure to change things up and be a part of an alternative 4th of July event in New York City that isn't at your stereotypical party venue. 

Picture this: It's 4th of July and you're getting together with some of your closest family and friends to express that red, white, and blue pride. You're done up to the nines, rocking as much patriotic gear as you can - flags, stars, and plenty of stripes. But then you decide to stick with the normal 4th of July scenario and go to a crowded park. Doesnt sound as good. Now, picture the exact same situation, only the party is on the water? Sounds a little better right? 

Fireworks are a lot better to take in when there's a beautifully lit city lit up in the background, and what better place to see one of the most popular spectacles in the year than New York City. Locals don't welcome summer just because of the weather, but also because there's one holiday that takes place that has us donning the red, white, and blue, and celebrating with our closest friends - 4th of July.

One of the most popular holidays of the year is just around the corner, and this year New York City is looking to top things off around the world yet again, by throwing the biggest and best fireworks displays. But, while parks and other public places fill up with mobs of patriotic locals at an early point of the day, there are options outside of the stereotypical independence day scenario.
