Bach in Baltimore ends its 2017-2018 Season with Bach’s inventive motet, Singet dem Herr ein neues Lied (Sing unto the Lord a new song). It is written for a double chorus without instrumental accompaniment. In 1789, Mozart reportedly was deeply moved by a performance of this piece and asked to see the music. The Bach in Baltimore Choir will also show their tremendous virtuosic versatility with performances of several a cappella works of American composers.
