The Maryland Science Center has orchestrated a great kick off to summer with an up-tempo mix of music, dance, food and fun at its annual fundraising gala, Solstice, on Saturday, June 19, 2010. This year’s theme is “Science Swings” as the Maryland Science Center welcomes the acclaimed 18-piece big band, Beantown Swing Orchestra, featuring American Idol finalist John Stevens.

The gala will also include a moveable feast and signature cocktails on the waterfront, and jitterbugs can Lindy Hop their way through the museum’s exhibition halls which will be open during the celebration.

Morton’s The Steakhouse in partnership with VELOCITY Broadcasting® and Big Machine Label Group is hosting the first of its kind, interactive concert featuring Grammy®-nominated singer and songwriter Jewel on Monday, June 7, at 8 p.m. This album release party is being launched via a live, high-definition broadcast, and is an exclusive opportunity for guests to be able to hear songs from Jewel’s new album “Sweet and Wild” before it is officially released to the public.
