To begin, there will be a 3 part “Crash Course” series where Laurie will arm attendees with the practical essentials of wine. Then, each month a new class will be conducted with different themes. For instance, one class might focus on a particular region like Italian Whites or Spanish Reds, as well as more in depth classes in special wines like Champagne or Dessert Wine.

Don’t Drink….Learn to Taste

In this 1st class, you’ll learn how to evaluate and describe wine like a wine professional, while tasting the big 6 grape varieties – Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. With a number of interactive exercises, you’ll find out how to master the keys to tasting like a pro. You’ll also learn the traditional qualities and personalities of each of these 6 grapes and be able to talk about them like a true cork dork!

The 3 S’s: Serving, Storage & Shopping

The 2nd class, will focus on proper serving & storage of wine. Learn the importance of the right glassware, how to store your wine, what temperature to serve each wine at, and why you might decant a wine. We will taste 6 different varieties that might be hard to pronounce but are easy to love! You’ll also learn Laurie’s secrets to finding wine bargains where you shop and tips on outsmarting any restaurant wine list.

Weird Science: Food & Wine Reactions

In the 3rd class, Laurie Forster, The Wine Coach, will help attendees discover how wine reacts with common food components like salt, acids and fats. Attendees will interactively taste their way to understanding how to describe wines and, also, create great food and wine pairings every time! Six different styles of wine will be sampled with various foods.
