World-renowned Middle Eastern artist, Galeet Dardashti, will perform live on Sunday, March 27, 2011 at the Gordon Center For Performing Arts (3506 Gwynnbrook Ave, Owings Mills). The performance is hosted by THE ASSOCIATED: Jewish Community Federation of Baltimore and sponsored by Terry and James Rubenstein in recognition of the organization’s donors. The concert is open to the public.
Dardashti is the first woman in her family to continue her family tradition of distinguished Persian and Jewish musicianship. Dardashti is the granddaughter of Yona Dardashti, considered the most renowned singer of Persian classical music in Iran in the last generation.
The event will also feature five dancers, an orchestra and a rich media show. For full bio and performance clips, visit www.associated.org/concert.
