This business casual event will feature gourmet food from Simply Elegant, fine wine, dancing to live pop-jazz entertainment by Elegant Sounds, and bidding on original youth-inspired artwork created by The Children’s Home residents.
The event theme is “The Process of Recycling Our Lives.” The Children’s Home provides a haven and nurturing environment that enables abused, neglected or abandoned children to heal, grow and thrive.
As an artistic expression of that, the residents participate in weekly workshops to transform recycled materials into beautiful pieces of canvas artwork, jewelry, furniture, houseware items and assorted gifts that will be sold in FACES 2012 silent auction.
During the VIP reception/fashion show, TCH residents will create and model recyclable clothing and describe how it relates to recycling their lives.
Event proceeds will support The Children’s Home’s facilities upgrade and expansion Capital Campaign. For 149 years, The Children’s Home has provided residential services and community-based programs for Maryland youth, ages 13–21, who are victims of abuse, neglect, abandonment or family crisis and/or are in need of structured and supervised care.
